Security around Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence and the AAP and BJP HQs was heightened overnight amid protests over the Delhi Liquor Policy Case. The AAP vs BJP dispute, revolving around the Chandigarh mayoral election and the Enforcement Directorate’s summons to Arvind Kejriwal, intensified as Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann led party workers on a spirited protest march. Ahead of the protest, Kejriwal, facing a fifth summons and potential arrest, accused the BJP of rigging Tuesday’s election, expressing concerns about their impact on larger elections. “If they can manipulate small elections, what can they do in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections?” he declared, emphasizing the party’s commitment to protecting democracy.

AAP’s Delhi protest showcased massive crowds marching through the capital, waving party flags, and shouting slogans against the BJP. Allegations of interference in their peaceful protest were made by AAP leaders, including Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj, who accused the BJP of being “scared” of Kejriwal. Reports indicate over two dozen AAP workers have been detained, prompting the BJP to mount its own protests, accusing the AAP and Kejriwal of playing the victim card. Delhi Police has heightened security, deploying over a thousand personnel, as both parties engage in a heated exchange on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
