Delhi News Updates July 28: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not attend the World Cities Summit in Singapore after he failed to get clearance for the visit from Delhi LG VK Saxena and the time period to complete the process lapsed. After Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena last week returned Kejriwal’s proposal for the foreign visit, the latter shot off a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for a clearance.

The trial court was hearing Jain’s application for interim bail on health grounds in the money laundering case. The ED had approached the HC seeking that he be examined by doctors of a central government hospital. Contending that it has serious doubts as to whether the LNJP Hospital or even GB Pant Hospital would be able to independently assess his medical condition, the ED sought constitution of an independent board consisting of a panel of doctors of central government hospitals for “verification” of AAP leader Satyendar Jain’s condition.
Tension gripped Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh area late Wednesday night after hundreds of residents started quarrelling and pelting stones at each other and the police, leaving 8 police personnel injured, police said on Thursday. More than 27 people were booked for rioting after an argument escalated and residents threw bottles, attacked police personnel and police vehicles, and disrupted traffic movement in the area.
