The Enforcement Directorate is suspecting that Arpita was appointed as the director of these companies after she came into association with Partha.
The Enforcement Directorate(ED), which is investigating the Bengal education scam case, began probing three companies linked to Arpita Mukherjee, a close aide of sacked and arrested TMC leader Partha Chatterjee, on Friday.
The probe agency is suspecting that Arpita was appointed as the director of these companies after she came into association with Partha.
In all these firms, Kalyan Dhar is the director and business partner of Partha Chatterjee’s close aide.
# First firm
Arpita was appointed as Director of Symbiosis Merchants Private Limited, a Kolkata-based firm, incorporated on March 21, 2011. On paper, the firm was shown to be involved in the business of wholesale of a variety of goods. Along with Arpita, Kalyan Dhar was also made Director of the company on July 1, 2021.
# Second firm
On November 9, 2011, Arpita was appointed as Director of the firm Sentry Engineering Private Limited. Interestingly, this firm was incorporated in 2001 with an authorized share capital of Rs 1 crore. However, after Arpita’s appointment in 2011 as Director, Kalyan Dhar was also made Director in 2018. As of now, this firm has only two directors – Arpita and Kalyan Dhar. On paper, this firm is involved in the manufacture of special purpose machinery.
# Third firm
Arpita Echhay Entertainment Private Limited was incorporated on October 29, 2014, with Arpita Mukherjee as the director of this company. Interestingly, the second Director of this company, Kalyan Dhar was appointed in the same year when he became Director of Sentry Engineering Private Limited along with Arpita.
