- The accused, Ramakant, allegedly smoked in the bathroom and tried to open the flight door
- Ramakant also claimed to have a bullet in his bag, which was not found by Mumbai Police
- When flight crew members rushed towards the lavatory, Ramakant was found with a cigarette in his hand
- Several co-passengers complained of harassment by Ramakant during the flight
- Mumbai Police charged Ramakant under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Aircraft Act, 1937
- The sections include Section 336, 22, 23, and 25, which pertain to endangering human life, disobeying lawful instructions, assault, and smoking on a flight
